NYSOGA WINTER RENDEZVOUS
Winter Rendezvous is a formal gathering of licensed guides from across the state held each year in March. Winter Rendezvous is the forum for our First Aid, CPR and Water Safety trainings for prospective new guides as well as the venue for re-certifications for current guides. Winter Rendezvous is also a site used by DEC for it's spring testing of new guide candidates. This event is a wonderful opportunity for aspiring guides to acquire all the certifications necessary for obtaining a New York State guide license in a 3 day period. The annual meeting for NYSOGA members and the election of new officers to the board of directors is held on Saturday afternoon, as well as regional meetings and appointing of regional directors. These meetings are followed by the annual banquet, awards presentations and an evening of socializing and fun. All Rendezvous attendees and their guests are welcomed to the banquet and evening activities. As with summer rendezvous there is also time for enjoying the company of fellow guides renewing friendships and making new friends. Come join the fun!

The 2018 Winter Rendezvous Committee invites you to join fellow NYSOGA guides, their families, prospective guides, and guests at the White Eagle Conference Center in Hamilton, NY from March 22 to 25, 2018 for Winter Rendezvous XXXVII. This is an annual event of the New York State Outdoor Guides Association (NYSOGA).
Members, fellow guides, aspiring guides and guests are invited to attend this event and take advantage of opportunities for certification trainings, education, sitting for the guide exam administered by NYSDEC, networking and socializing. This location allows participants to walk to all venues once their car is parked. Meals, lodging, location, and staff are outstanding.
The theme of the event is "Lessons from the Past, Visions for the Future." Thursday and Friday NYSOGA offers certification classes that meet the requirement for obtaining a NYS guide’s license and a guide’s exam review question & answer session. Saturday’s schedule includes seminars on "The Life and Legacy" of the late guide and author Dr. Anne LaBastille and an interactive session on "Marketing Your Guide Business." The Association’s Annual Meeting for members is Saturday afternoon and the Annual Guides Banquet, a good time for everyone, is Saturday evening.
This is a wonderful opportunity for aspiring guides to satisfy all of the certification requirements necessary for obtaining a New York State Guide License and learn more about the many benefits of NYSOGA membership. Click here to view the New York State Licensed Guide Application.
NYSOGA members are encouraged to attend Winter Rendezvous. Rendezvous offers an opportunity to meet other members, interact and network with other guides, observe how the Association is working on behalf of its members, and pick up First Aid and CPR recertification cards that may be needed to keep the guide license valid. Please note: There is discounted pricing for the First Aid and CPR recertification courses for members whose 2018 membership dues have been paid at the time their Rendezvous registration is submitted. Membership dues are what allow the NYSOGA Board to operate on behalf of the organization. Current membership is also required to attend the Annual Meeting on Saturday and vote on any issues presented.
NOTE: If you are a NYSOGA member, please consider becoming more involved in the operation of the Association by becoming a member of the Board of Directors or joining one of our many committees. A new Board of Directors is elected each year at the Annual Meeting. To remain a thriving Association in the future, NYSOGA needs more involvement from members who are willing to participate and share ideas and skills. Feel free to contact any of the Board of Directors or stop by the Rendezvous registration table in March to learn more about NYSOGA’s current needs.
